I love old TV series. My favorites are usually those that were made before I was born. The shows were family-friendly in general, had moral stories, and you do not have the whole series, to find out what’s going to follow.
Today, shows quite different. The humor is different. The font is different. The camera work is different. Everything is different except on television.
My favorites are as follows:
Mr. Ed
A freaking talking horse! How big is that? When I was younger I would always watch the repeats all the time. Classic humor. And a freaking talking horse!
Hogan’s Heroes
This is probably my favorite. Although historically inaccurate in many ways the show is amazingly funny. Hogan and Schultz are probably my favorite characters of the TV series. Hogan is the cool man who is kind to everybody and Schultz as the bubbly child who just wants to have fun. Two great, great actor with a wonderfully written story.
I Love Lucy
Who does not love Lucy? It is one of the most famous actresses in the history of television. She helped through the gender barrier to break through and help other women, to actresses for the coming generations.
M * A * S * H *
Alan Alda plays a great Hawkeye. His wit and humor make an excellent character to love and follow. Honestly, the TV series by far my favorite between him and the film.
The Andy Griffith Show
Raised in a small town, I can easily relate to Mayberry. The people are friendly, everyone knows each other, and if someone is new to the city, the sheriff knows it quickly.
Cheers
This show is not complete before my time, but it ended in my early childhood so I do not remember too much of the show when it actually was. It is now considered a classic and among some of the best TV series of all time. A show that excellent place in a bar.
Taxi
Andy Kaufman is a comedic genius, but he does not fully make this show. Danny DeVito, Tony Danza, Christopher Lloyd, Judd Hirsch and have them make it as entertaining and amazing.
If you happen to love television, you see these old TV shows. They are well worth the time and give you a few laughs in the process. Old is the new “new.” Check it out while you are waiting for your favorite new shows on television.
