When it comes to love and dating, the stakes are high and so are the odds. But there are many things we can do to try and meet a compatible partner, a mate that you have lots in common with and makes you happy. As a Christian this is quite important and usually is at the top of the list, how and where to meet someone who has similar ideals as you. Below we highlight five good ways to meet a Christian partner.
1. Bookstore – love a good book? Then head to your corner bookshop and browse the aisles of your favorite book category. Maybe for you that’s cooking, travel, business, sports, biographies or history, whatever your ideal book category browse awhile and stay alert for possible conversation partners. Perhaps there’s a lovely looking lady (or handsome gentleman) riveted by a book that you are also equally enthralled with, strike up a conversation and take it from there. This method doesn’t guarantee that the person you speak with will be a Christian, but it does up the odds a bit. Plus it doesn’t hurt to try.
2. Library – the reason we picked your local library to meet other Christians is simply because people who are devoted to spirituality tend to be well read. And where do well read people tend to hang? A place that houses and worships thousands of books. Look in whatever book category you like and keep an eye out for an interesting conversation partner.
3. Grocery Store – this one is a given since it can be a great way to talk to anyone. If you’re not shy, simply strike up a conversation about a particular food product in someones grocery cart or share a good recipe you’re proud of. The possibilities here are endless.
4. Sports Team – are you the sporty type? Then get thee to a local Christian sports team, maybe from your church or school group. If they don’t have one, form one and get others involved with the “cause”. Sports are a great method for meeting potential partners and a great conversational tool. Plenty to discuss, including favorite teams, favorite athletes, team scores, and so on.
5. Bible Study – many religious organizations have a recurring weekly or monthly bible study group that is ideal for meeting compatible Christian partners. Think about it. It’s a regular event with a shared focus that revolves around meeting, speaking and getting to know one another better. Find your local chapter and get involved, you never know what might develop. If nothing comes of it, you still have a boatload of friends to commune and have fun with.
Key is to get out of your comfort zone and mix and mingle where the type of person you seek is most likely to be at. Very possibly one of the five ideas and or places discussed above.
