The term walk on water comes from an incident in the Bible where Jesus asked Peter to come to him when he was out on the water. There are many similarities in this story that leads to life today. I will share these principles, and hopefully they will help you as much as they have helped me

Okay, here is the story Jesus told his disciples that they would go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. They started and it seemed like smooth sailing. At the middle of the night a violent storm came up with strong winds and big waves and they were all afraid they would drown. Lo and behold, who shows up? Jesus does, and when Peter sees him says, “Lord, if it is you, bid me come. Jesus was all eager to learn, Peter a valuable lesson and then ask him to bring him out on the water. Well, it is Peter, all triumphant, and then what does he do? He gets the eyes from Jesus, and of course, he begins to decrease. There are three important principles in this story that can help us all in our daily lives. I will share them with you.

1.) When he was asked by God to do something, there is an accomplishable goal. He does not send us on wild goose chases. If God leads, as he takes care of the needs. Wind and waves, the match trials and tribulations No to God’s will. If he has guided you to cross the sea, then He will calm the storm in the last minute.

2.) When God asks you to walk on water, keep the focus on Jesus. Peter made the mistake of not focusing on Jesus. He got his focus on the facts rather than on one that could solve the problem. Peter, like us, were very human. We all want to look at what we can see with our five senses and not in the Lord.

3.) When wind and waves and storms of life attacks you, all is not lost. If you are falling because you have succumbed to the temptation to look at your situation, Jesus is still there to pull you up. Peter began to sink. He lost his focus and his faith. Jesus saved him still anyway. Our loving Savior not judge him, but reached down and grabbed him and pulled him back up. Then, in a word, he calmed the wind and waves. Not only did Jesus do it for Peter, but he will do it for you. Even if you’ve blown it, yielded to temptation, and now find yourself in a place where you drown, he will do it for you!

My friend, it is possible for you to overcome the wind and the waves that attack you and you can learn to walk on water. No matter what you go through, you can learn to walk on water. Keep your eyes on Jesus. He will not let you fall!
